For Sprüngli’s 190th anniversary, we created a celebratory FOOH moment using one of the brand’s most iconic buildings. The façade is initially fully covered by a fabric featuring the classic Sprüngli pattern. A sudden wind movement reveals the building underneath, followed by a light installation that illuminates “190 Years” across the structure. The result is a simple yet powerful reveal that combines heritage, emotion, and visual spectacle.

FOOH — questions we get asked
What is FOOH advertising?
FOOH stands for Fake Out Of Home: a CGI video that looks like a real out-of-home installation — a giant handbag on a landmark, a product bursting out of a billboard — but exists only on screen. Because nothing is physically built, an FOOH campaign costs a fraction of a real activation, has no permits or production windows, and is made to be shared. Pixel Adgency produces FOOH and CGI campaigns from our studio in Vienna for brands across Europe.
What is the difference between FOOH and CGI advertising?
CGI is the technique; FOOH is the format. CGI (computer-generated imagery) is any photoreal 3D imagery composited into footage. FOOH is a specific use of it: staging a fictional out-of-home stunt in a real, recognisable location so it reads as if it actually happened. Every FOOH film is CGI, but plenty of CGI advertising — product films, 3D animation, visual effects — is not FOOH.
How much does an FOOH campaign cost?
It depends on the number of shots, the level of photorealism and whether we shoot the plate ourselves or work from existing footage. As a rule, an FOOH film costs far less than a physical out-of-home activation of comparable impact, because there is no fabrication, no installation, no permits and no location rental. Tell us the idea and the deadline and we will come back with a fixed quote.
How long does it take to produce an FOOH video?
A typical FOOH film takes two to four weeks from approved concept to final delivery: plate shoot or footage selection, 3D modelling and animation, lighting and compositing, then grade and sound. Rush timelines are possible — we have delivered campaigns in under a week when a brand needed to react to a live moment.

Pixel Adgency is a creative agency based in Vienna, Austria, specialising in FOOH, CGI, 3D and AI-generated advertising content. We work with brands and agencies across the DACH region and internationally, and deliver vertical-first assets built for Instagram, TikTok and paid social.
