From Vienna with Schmäh: we had the honor to realize the 3D-OOH ad “Sisi on Ski” for Wien Nord Serviceplan and Österreich Werbung. The piece is live on large City Screens in six countries, supported by a broader rollout across 13 markets—including Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Great Britain, France, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia. In collaboration with 100+ tourism partners nationwide, the campaign showcases the Austrian lifestyle—authentic and charming—while using bold, innovative imagery to position Austria as a sustainable, year-round destination that wins the hearts of international guests and stands apart from the competition.
DOOH
Anamorphic 3D out-of-home — billboards and installations that leap off the building and own the street.
DOOH — questions we get asked
What is 3D-OOH or anamorphic billboard advertising?
3D-OOH (also called anamorphic DOOH) is a digital billboard illusion: content is distorted so that, from one viewing point, the image appears to break out of the screen in three dimensions — a wave crashing over the edge, a product floating in front of the building. It plays on a real screen in a real street, and it is filmed and shared, so the campaign runs twice: once out of home and once online.
What is the difference between DOOH and 3D-OOH?
DOOH (digital out of home) simply means advertising on a digital screen instead of a printed poster. 3D-OOH is a creative technique used on those screens: anamorphic content built for one specific screen geometry and one viewing angle so it reads as three-dimensional. All 3D-OOH is DOOH; most DOOH is just flat video on a screen.
Does an anamorphic 3D billboard work on any screen?
No, and this is the thing most people get wrong. The illusion is calculated for the exact geometry of one screen — its corner, curvature and the angle the crowd stands at. Content built for a corner LED in Seoul will not read correctly in Vienna. We build each 3D-OOH execution for the specific site, which is why we ask for the screen specs before quoting.
How much does a 3D billboard campaign cost?
Two separate costs: producing the anamorphic content, and buying the media on the screen. We handle the first and can advise on the second. Because the resulting film travels on social, brands often justify the media buy on the online reach rather than the footfall alone.
Who makes 3D-OOH content in Europe?
Pixel Adgency creates anamorphic 3D-OOH and DOOH content from Vienna, Austria, building each execution for the specific screen it will run on, and delivering the social cut-down alongside it.
